Patricia Fisher, Ph.D., R.Psych., L.Psych.
President & CEO.
Dr. Patricia Fisher is a clinical and consulting psychologist who has specialized in the field
of workplace traumatic and systemic stress over the past 20 years. She has authored 6 texts
and numbers of research papers on the subject, and is a frequent presenter at international
conferences and professional meetings. Active as a clinician, researcher, and consultant,
her work also includes program design and evaluation, curriculum development and training,
policy development and organizational planning. Dr. Fisher’s work has focused on the needs
of public service personnel in high risk areas such as human and social services, law enforcement,
corrections, emergency services, and health care. More recently, the scope of application has
increased to include a wide range of high stress private and public sector workplaces. Dr. Fisher
has led the expansion of Fisher & Associates into the United States and currently resides in New York,
while making periodic visits back to Canada.
Monica Flexhaug, B.Sc., M.H.S.
Organizational Health Consultant
Monica Flexhaug, BSc., MHS has been a practicing adult educator 15 years, obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Lethbridge, and her Masters of Health Studies in Leadership from Athabasca University in Alberta. Through her work in the Alberta mental health system, Monica’s focus turned to quality of work life issues for mental health workers in relation to occupational health and safety, coordination of provincial crisis response protocols, and assessing the quality of work life for mental health workers. Recently she has interests developing in the areas of systematic change management frameworks in complex service delivery systems. Other adult education experience includes providing training in: Suicide Intervention, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, Mental Health Awareness, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, and Protection of Persons in Care.
Chloé Gendron, MA, CAAP
Organizational Health Consultant
With a background in competitive sports and management experience in high performance environments, Chloé puts her passion into facilitating healthy change strategies that foster and help sustain employee well-being. She focuses on self-efficacy (mindset change and wellness
skill development), physicality (energy management, physical self-care and fitness), and nutritional guidance (healthy food knowledge, planning and preparation).
Chloé holds a Master’s degree in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University in Victoria , B.C. She is a certified fitness instructor, a coach in kinetic training and an accredited
advertising and communications practitioner – with an emphasis on behavioural studies. Fluent in French and English, Chloé is a motivational speaker, published author, dedicated gastronome and competitive long-distance runner.
Jane Katz, M.A., R.C.C., C.H.R.P
Organizational Health Consultant
Jane Katz is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia (R.C.C.) and a Certified Human Resource Professional (C.H.R.P.). Jane spent many years in leadership positions in non-profit agencies and for the past ten years has been a consultant and therapist in private practice. A focus of her work is the development of programs which address competency and capacity building in emotional intelligence and relationship health. Jane has a particular expertise in addressing conflict in relationships using interventions based on systems thinking and a sophisticated understanding of change dynamics.
Currently, Jane is a consultant for the Ministry of Public Safety and Attorney General in program development for male and female offenders, a trainer for B.C. Corrections and the Justice Institute of B.C. and an associate faculty member in the department of Organizational Leadership and Learning at Royal Roads University. She was recently invited to work with the United Nations Asia and Far East Institute as an expert in domestic violence and has provided training in Japan in domestic violence intervention. Jane is also working on her doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Françoise Mathieu, M.Ed., CCC.
Organizational Health Consultant
Françoise brings many strengths to her role with Fisher & Associates. She is a certified mental health counsellor (Canadian Counselling Association) and Compassion Fatigue Specialist (Traumatology Institute). Her professional focus on the needs of high stress occupations led Françoise to establish WHP - Workshops for the Helping Professions - whose aim is to offer counselling, consulting and training to helpers on topics related to self care, wellness, burnout and compassion fatigue. Since 2001, Françoise has given hundreds of seminars on compassion
fatigue and self care across Canada to thousands of helping professionals in the health care fields.
Françoise is an engaging and dynamic speaker who offers evidence-based solutions to helpers
seeking validation and new strategies to remain healthy while working in this
challenging and rewarding field. Her positive outlook and commitment to helping
clients excel are hallmarks of her work. Françoise is fluently bilingual in English and French and can present in either languages. Based in Kingston Ontario, Françoise also runs a successful private practice with individuals and couples.
Many of her clients are military personnel and helping professionals.
Lynda Monk, M.S.W., R.S.W.
Organizational Health Consultant
Lynda has an eleven year history working as a front line social worker in child welfare,
children’s mental health and medical social work respectively. During this time she became
very interested in how the nature of the work in helping occupations impacts the emotional and
psychological well-being of professionals. As a result, for the past six years, Lynda has
represented her own company, Creative Wellness and been an Associate with Fisher & Associates
since 2002. She has developed and facilitated training workshops in areas such as Burnout
Prevention, Vicarious Trauma/Compassion Fatigue, Self-Care for Helpers, and the Leader’s
Role in Organizational Wellness. She has also published articles related to professional
resiliency and organizational health, and has presented at many conferences within Canada.
As a registered social worker, Lynda applies systems thinking, transformational processes
and a deep passion for understanding people in their environments to both her work and life.
Lynda is a senior Organizational Health Consultant. She strives to build partner relationships
with clients that promote a high vision and support actions towards both employee wellness and
a culture of health and well being throughout an organization. As a member of the Fisher &
Associates’ Executive Team, she takes a lead with promoting programs, maintaining quality
assurance, and practicing a community of wellness both personally and professionally.
Cole Gorman
Office Administrator
Cole originally comes from small town Ontario and Newfoundland and has lived and traveled widely throughout Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Central America. Over the past 16 years he has put his roots down in Victoria where he received a diploma of accounting and computers. Cole joined Fisher & Associates in the fall of 2005 as the office administrator and is our resident magician responsible for bookkeeping, website, contract management software, scheduling, coordinating supplies and managing information.
